Prisoners

Finally a villeneuve movie I understand! This is one of the best detective thrillers ever made. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhall are both outstanding and really made this stand out. It passed the crucial detail of being a detective thriller and that is being unpredictable! I had no idea where it was going but I was constantly on the edge of my seat. The themes it discusses in this film are terrifying and deeply upsetting once the story has unravelled. With the resolution tying it up neatly with enough clues to not feel cheated. My only real complaint is that I wish we could have known more about Jake Gyllenhall's character because he was such an interesting part of the story but I feel like personally you know very little despite him appearing to be very complex. All in all, really great and an essential to detective movie lovers.
