Superman
Two years of waiting for this and I’d do it all again for the chance to see this movie for the first time again. Nothing beats watching your favorite superhero do what he was made to do which is instill hope and love into the world. The infectious nature of this movie captures a tone and message very much needed in today’s modern society. “Kindness in a world where kindness is old fashioned” is what James used to describe this movie and my god it’s exactly what he said it was. David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent maybe one of my all time favorite performances from an actor as a superhero ever. The way his delivery changes with the moment and his actions in certain situations makes him so believable and beautiful in his quest for finding his humanity in such a pivotal time in his life.Davids tone and knowing where to be a punchline in a joke and when to be serious is such a beautiful dynamic that he plays so perfectly .Rachel Brosnahan as the powerful yet vulnerable at times Lois Lane was also picture perfect casting. The way she carries Lois’s everyday reporting and the way she’s stern but for good reason questioning everything she comes in contact with was so powerful. The power that Lois holds in this world while being a human with a computer,a pen, and her brain is what makes Lois Lane as a character so special and Rachel brought that to life in a way only she could. Nicholas Hoult a man of many faces in film from a blue beast in X-Men to a bald war boy in Mad Max Fury Road. The man of many faces Nicholas once again goes into a character and now you can’t unsee that character as played by anyone but him. His evil and downright dangerous portrayal of Lex Luthor is so compelling and honestly at times terrifying that it shows the true glory of a how good a character Lex can be when given a vessel that brings out the best in the character. Nicholas and his portrayal is immaculate in the sense with every sentence and every action he commits you genuinely believe everything he says and does is for the good of human kind when it’s purely hatred and jealousy that fuels him. Something about just how downright hateful and evil Nicholas played this character is something that will stick forever with me. There’s so many other characters I could talk about but for now I’ll say this is the comic book movie I’ve always wanted and I’m glad I got it now. This came at a time when it was needed and honestly thank you to cast and crew and anyone who even laid a pinkie on making this project come to fruition. Nothing but love and respect to this movie and it has genuinely made me feel as though the good times aren’t over there just getting started❤️
