Incendies

Holy fuck bro another Denis Villinueve masterpiece. This man does NOT miss at allll. Even though I kinda guessed the plot twist, it didn't affect my enjoyment. This movie is not hinged on it's plot Twist (unlike Oldboy, sorry). It's so well made even without that. Top 2 Denis just behind Dune 2 Nawal marwan dropped the CRAZIEST mom lore of all time. The amount of things she went through, from being banished from her home, giving up her baby, opposing the Christian armed forces, searching for her baby at the start of a fucking war, working undercover for chamseddin, killing that christian leader, going to jail, becoming the "The Women Who Sings", then finally settling in America and raising two kids. Insane😭😭 The visuals were soooo good too. Sometimes I just LOVEEE movies away from the regular boring american aesthetic with tall buildings and boring streets. This was made in a completely different setting and culture. Kept me hooked till the end. The music and cinematography was so fucking good too (like every Denis movie does, lol).
