Obsession

when nikki gives bear the necklace for protection she is mouthing and shaking her head no. that was the moment she lost any sense of self that was left. when she tells bear after the hospital “I’ll be anything you want me to be” it reveals that she has lost her identity and has completely surrendered herself to bear.  the true nikki tries at any chance she can to just kill herself so it can be over. during the party scene, when the real nikki snaps back into her body she harms herself as soon as she can. when bear leaves the bed the true nikki is begging him to kill her before “she” wakes up. bear doesn’t listen to her and asks her instead what is so bad about being with him like the narcissist he is.
