Moonlight
I think the only thing that stopped Moonlight from being perfect was that it didn’t develop the ending more. And yet, I suppose it didn’t need to in a way, as Chiron’s moonlight story ends there.
This film was one of the most personal feeling films I’ve watched. Something about it’s cinematography, settings, audio and characters made it feel so real, and also nostalgic. I’ve never seen childhood represented in a better way in film than it was in part 1.
The character of Chiron is a great one. You can tell the writer really understood their character, as Chiron doesn’t have to say or even do much to let the audience know how he feels. He’s one of those characters that could actually exist in real life, but not stand out, yet still contain such an amazing story. Again, his emotions are also shown with the help of the cinematography, editing and audio.
