Tanner '88

Viewed on Criterion with the 2004 Sundance intros.  Witty and well-directed. Certainly ahead of its time in style and form, so Altman really laid the groundwork for the mockumentary series here. Special acknowledgement of Pamela Reed for her performance as campaign manager T.J. Cavanaugh. Unfortunately, in today’s American political landscape, the narrative has completely lost its fangs. It’s cute (and terribly sad) what used to pass for scandal in relation to the presidency.
