Decided to watch knowing next to nothing cus its a lesbian film so when I saw the poster I was scared it was going to be pandering to men but fortunately it’s truly made by and for women, it was such a relief to me to see that their outfits are like that because it’s cunty and not because they wanted to sexualize them like any other movie would do (I wonder if it was intentional, like a subversion??? I mean it has to, right?). Putting that aside. HERE COMES MY REAL REVIEW!!! The movie It’s ridiculous, I really enjoyed it, It’s SOO 2000s IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. It has the best aspects of the spy movies you’d watch as a kid (gen z) with a lesbian main plot, what’s more cool than that?? The main couple it’s lovely and so is the squad and Lucy’s sidekick. I’m sure I’ll be rewatching this movie in the future. It’s really charming and fun.
On a more personal note (minor spoilers whoops) Amy saying she thinks love should feel like a drug was very relatable to me, I have only dated men and while I enjoyed some aspects of it (like feeling accepted/accomplished or talking about our shared interests (Girl that’s a lavender marriage)) I never felt desire, maybe curiosity but not a real wanting for a more. I’m still navigating my long time attraction to women though, never had a girlfriend so for now I’m watching lesbian movies. ANYWAYS GREAT MOVIE. VERY CAMP VERY WOKE I’D RECOMMEND.
