Salem's Lot
"The Master Wants You! Throw Away Your Cross. Face The Master. Your Faith Against His Faith! Could You Do That?"
Disc 1 (first half): very slow build up but it uses the pacing to build up the characters and their positions going into the next disc, has a few tid bits of tension the classic window shits never fail to give you some sort of heebie jeebies because it’s gotta be the most dramatic way to enter a room from a window ever 😂 and the final scene where the chap jumps into the kids grave to investigate the coffin and that jumpscare that follows was really well done throughly enjoyed that entire segment tbh. Can tell the film will definitely pick up with disc 2.
**"Look At Me, Teacher! Loooooook!"

Disc 2: the development and slow burning pace of the 1st compliments nicely with the seconds brilliant and emotional conclusion amplifying the stakes of the relationships, the chillingly ominous atmosphere, the silent tension that seems to always lead to another effective jumpscare I mean seriously these jumpscares were masterfully done way ahead of its time all made more haunting by the stunning score that is complimented by impeccable make up designs that just burn into your mind.
I can’t even imagine the fear this miniseries must’ve brought people growing up in these decades like seriously you had to deal with this AND IT now wonder there was loads of psychopaths back in the day 😂
Conclusive review: this is a fantastic and haunting gothic vampire terrorfest full of likeable characters with fantastic performances that make it all the more authentic and real to the audience topped with a dark looming atmosphere that lingers as the credits roll.. this is a great thing to watch at night to give you the creeps tobe hoopers direction and Stephen kings writing work unsurprisingly perfect together
