Still one of the only films I’ve seen that truly encapsulates the feeling and ecstasy of youth.Written by Obayashi’s 12 year old daughter, with the use of insane and absurd editing, along with some of the most surrealistic plot points I’ve ever seen, Hausu manages to bring together everything great and yet scary about film and childhood, and make a 90 minute horror/comedy so insane it got a round of applause at my screening.
