The Long Goodbye
Probably the most peculiar and calmest neo-noir I have and will have ever seen. It has a security guard that would voluntarily do random actor impression for strangers driving by, a group of exhibitionist lesbian Rockettes that probably throw orgy party every night, and our dear smartass born-loser chainsmoking sonofabitch Philip Marlowe who doesn't give a shit about anything except for his cat, not even his own life. The guy that made jokes about a mob boss while being surrounded by his henchmen, the guy that got his ass busted because he refused to sell out on his only friend Terry thinking that swine a saint while in fact he was being used by the bastard as a scapegoat.
Btw the way Marlowe's voice sounds like fucking The Dude from Postal 2 is the greatest thing I have ever seen in any movies and the main theme composed by John Williams is so good.
