The Thin Man
So far the best old hollywood mystery-comedy I have ever seen and the Charleses have to be the best onscreen couple ever since the birth of cinema. Genuinely gotta find myself someone who will look at me the way Nora looked at Nick. And with that abundance of alcohol, no wonder someone named a cocktail glass after them.
Witty dialogue, and specifically banter, are truly the spirit of comedy, not stretching every face muscle to make a complete fool of oneself (but if it is Myrna Loy's little nose scrunch then it is totally fine).
- You see, my father was a sexogenarian
- He was?
- Yes. He admitted it.
- Sexogerarian, eh? Yes. Yes. But I can't put that in the paper.
- Why not?
- You know how they are... sex...
- Then just say he was sixty years old.
- Is that what it means?
- Of course.
