Lady Bird
This film just encapsulates the teenage girl experience from love life, guilt, self-discovery, embarrassment, the need to fit in and the arguments with her mum which are definitely the most realistic that I have ever seen on the big screen. The almost minimalist and defined approach to the film really helps everyone in the audience understand clearly what is going on but even then the narrative and decisions made by the characters may confuse others that haven’t been a teenage girl in this decade which just further emphasises how complex this stage in life can be especially for girls because even though it seems reduced there is always something in lady birds head that we are unaware of. Her character is very comforting with her strong yet immature instincts that are so relatable and make you love her, hate her and pity her all at once.
