Rope
This movie was very efficient. While it didn’t have the longest run time it used all of the time to perfection. The constant irony in the movie was very interesting. With Brandon constantly saying this was the perfect crime and then having everything go wrong. And the parallels of God toward the end when their teacher comes back and talks of how his words were twisted for the murder shows similarities to how the bible has been twisted to do wrong. That isn’t meant in a religious way just something I found interesting of intentional or not. The performances from Brandon Philip and Rupert were all great and I am still confused at why Brandon thought to invite the one man who could figure out there crime, though his crazed thoughts showed more towards the end as he lived for the rush. Giving the murder weapon to David’s father shows how he truly was sick in the head or something of the sort. The score was decent not anything crazy and the cinematography was pretty nice, but there is one shot that I really loved. When Brandon puts the rope into the cabinet in the kitchen and the door swings open in shut has really stuck with me. The movie had really good performances, I have always loved one room dramas and I really enjoyed this film.
