False Memory
i seldom write long reviews and i never written one in letterboxd before, but for this i'll make an exception
False Memory is one the best mini series i've ever seen, it has 10/10 animation with some of the best direction complemented by one of the most complex and mind-bending stories ever all compacted in just 7 compact episodes that you can finish in one night.
The First 5 episodes is rather episodic and serves as an introduction and build-up to the story and world we are seeing whilst still having exceptional animation and fight scenes, the whole concept of the show is so interesting and the way they tell you these concepts through the dialogue and flashbacks gives you a small understanding onto whats going on and keeps you guessing all the way through whilst being relatively easy to follow.
The Final 2 episodes is up there for me as one of the greatest pay-offs to a story i have ever seen, i won't say anything but trust me it will blow your mind and leave you staring at the ceiling thinking about it once it's over for like 30 minutes (that's what i did), especially the plot twist in the last episode like omfg bro.
The main character (Guan Chao) is so well-developed and thought out and i love how it focuses on his story while still having time to develop good side characters
but it's sometimes hard to follow what's going on but that could be excused because of the length of the show.
The overall message of this series and how it's told is my favorite part
TLDR; Its a mix of FLCL and Sonny boy with JJK animation
would recommend to literally anyone, 9.5/10
logging this because it's duration is shorter than the longest movie i've watched so far
