Lady Bird
Oh how I'm obsessed with any coming-of-age movie ever, especially those that feature parental issues 😍
Hi, Mom and Dad, it's me, Christine. It's the name you gave me. It's a good one. Dad, this is more for Mom. Hey, Mom, did you feel emotional the first time that you drove in Sacramento? I did and I wanted to tell you, but we weren't really talking when it happened. All those bends I've known my whole life, and stores, and the whole thing. But I wanted to tell you I love you. Thank you, I'm... thank you.
God what a beautiful film, the soundtrack is so weirdly comforting. I mean the only reason I rewatched is because I saw a tiktok and was like "where do I know this insanely heartwarming melody from" and of course it was Lady Bird. No characters are without their flaws and we truly do see a real depiction of Human relationships and the understanding and grappling with growing up both from the perspective of the child and the parent.
Lady Bird represents so much to me, as a movie it's a reminder to do what you love and be charitable to those around you. Lady Bird, the person is a reminder that it's okay to make mistakes, to stick up for yourself when youre being bullied or manipulated, because to learn is to grow and to grow is to flourish and life is just one big fucking lesson if you really consider it all.
