Nomadland

2 movies featuring tear-jerking sisterly relationships in one week! I'm really killin it. This movie is so incredibly soulful in the way its depictions of people are mundane yet eccentric, boring yet so enticingly interesting. At a glance the movie seems to be about nothing, or rather has no guiding mission or plotline, but by noticing the tiniest of details, the smallest of glances, it becomes an incredible look into a tiny pocket of the world and an entire philosophy. Frances McDormand embodies Fern so incredibly well that sometimes I question whether a scene was scripted or not and the writing is so terrifically human that I catch myself thinking about who in my life these characters remind me of and theres always multiple candidates.
