The atmosphere was really unique, for a Batman film especially, and the filmmaking techniques and cinematography are all inspirations for Devoid

The classic slasher that started it all. For me, the way they were able to capture the mystery of Micheal was inspiring and truly unique for its time period. Which in every way was inspiring for how my short was shot.

Another classic slasher film, a common theme with the vast majority of these films were the mystical elements of them all, which if you couldn’t tell, I really enjoy in horror flicks.

This film is just a very fun movie to add to the list of halloween films to binge. It’s super entertaining from beginning to end.

I’m deeply fond of the Terrifier franchise and the second film doesn’t disappoint whatsoever to me. Everything I said about the first film gets amped up by 100 in this. The mythology of Art and his connection to Sienna as well was super cool to me and I found it in a way intriguing.

This film was my introduction to horror films.. I think this was the first ever horror film I ever watched growing up and it’ll forever have a place in my heart. The sound design in this film was really my biggest inspiration on where I wanted to take the sound design and elevate it to the next level for a short.

The mystical element of this film, for me is what really stands out, and I appreciate it for not shying too far away from that aspect.
