ok wow...mikey madison, actress that you are!! this was just so amazing from the screenplay to the sound design (seriously tho I almost never clock sound design but some scenes of the change in volume of music as she walks around different parts of the club were so well done). from the moment she paused and broke down in the last scene, my interpretation was that Igor trying to kiss her made her snap and face her feelings on sex and sexuality. in sex work, you're using your body for your gain, the johns are using your body for theirs. then Ani finds Ivan, who tells her he loves her for more than her body, and ends up just referring to her as an escort. then she's with Igor, trying to show appreciation in the only way she knows how to men, and he tries to force her head down to kiss her. yes she initiated/consented but that was just one last person trying to use her body to their own gain. she just went through hell and he's like alright fine i'll let her fuck me rq. i felt like her face and subsequent crying just emanated catharsis and understanding of her relationship to sexuality. she feels used but it’s also so much more intimate and she’s trying to pull her feelings together. I could feel her sadness over the realization of feeling used, unfortunately I have felt used in this way and that's why it impacted me so much!!! It's interesting now reading other reviews and finding many people saw it as a moment where Igor trying to kiss her was too tender and real from what she's used to and he's the first person to not make her feel used. love that this was basically left up for the viewer to decide, and I think it's awesome that Baker wrote epilogues for only the actors to read
