oh what do i even say about this movie… it just has something in it… idk what exactly, but something. it holds such a special place in my heart.
there’s this innocence in the way the whole film is made… like everyone came into it with such purity and genuine love for what they were creating. nothing feels fake or calculated.
and for a movie from 2006, the visual style and the way the story is told felt so fresh and creative. but the craziest part is how well it has aged… EXTREMELY well.
and then there’s the music… anu malik’s best soundtrack BY FAR AND LARGE. this soundtrack is the soul of the movie. every song feels placed with so much care and emotion.
that “aashiqui ye meriii aaaj ki toh nahiii” by adnan sami hits me every single time man 😭 and again, full kudos to shirish, farah, and anu malik for using the songs so effectively throughout the film… sorry i keep coming back to the music lol but i genuinely think it’s what gives the movie its magic.
out of the three leads, akshay absolutely takes the cake for me… and salman really gave this one everything he had too, and it shows.
like jaanemann? nah… i LOVE jaanemann. jaanemann is in my BLOODD!!
