Fargo
“Oh, why don’t ya sit over there? I’d prefer that.”
Fargo has a lot of northerners in it, ya know? I feel like these northerners are way more spiteful than the ones I grew up with, yah. I was honestly expecting a more traditional murder mystery, but Fargo subverts my expectations excellently, oh-kay? I wish I could talk about my favorite scenes here, because this movie is actually really darn good, eh? It might not be as emotionally invoking as some of my favorites, but it’s still fantastic, aw jeez. Funny-lookin’ Steve Buscemi and William H. Macy are great, Macy in particular, yah. Ya know, most of the movie doesn’t take place in Fargo, eh? I found it pretty cool the way the perspective was situated, with three distinct points of view, yah know. It sort of reminded me of the pilot of Twin Peaks, where Dale Cooper acts as an outsider to the town; Marge Gunderson fills the same position, oh-kay. It’s weird to take the contents of the movie seriously when everyone is talking in such a wacky accent, but it keeps me engaged nonetheless, yah. Overall, Fargo’s amazing, and I don’t know why I slept on the Coen brothers for so long, ya know. 10/10
