Sunshine
As ambitious as they come. Danny Boyle took a risk and pushed the boundaries of science fiction with this one. A film layered with conflict, morality, internal struggle, and an epic journey to save humanity. A film, so unbothered by its monumental push towards the sun, that it allows you to feel the radiating heat of its bold and unpredictable nature. The score composition, both audacious and emotional… chaotic when necessary and deeply heartbreaking at the right moments... quickly becoming one of my favorites, complimenting every action and reaction perfectly. Danny Boyle swung for the fences in the 3rd act and his decision to take the narrative there was as intriguing as it was terrifying.
"At the end of time, a moment will come when just one man remains. Then the moment will pass. Man will be gone. There will be nothing to show that we were ever here... But stardust."
