Sorcerer
reminds me of that one episode in the first season of lost except these guys don’t have plot armour from the assassin in mulholland drive
maybe the most suspenseful film i’ve ever seen.
some of the scenes in this are easily some of my favourite scenes full stop. both bridge scenes, particularly the second had me on edge the whole time, and i think it’s amazing how they managed to film that in 1977.
my only real criticism with this masterpiece is the pacing of some of the first act, where the main 4 characters are in colombia before accepting the job, but i understand it was all to develop the plot and characters.
i feel like i kind of expected the french guy and the palestinian to die right as they started talking about their pasts, but it was so sudden and was over almost instantly.
roy scheider’s performance was one of my favourite parts of this film, his facial expressions at the end when he saw the french guy’s letter was incredibly acted and you could almost read his mind in the scene
