Videodrome

“Long live the new flesh” “we don’t even know reality from fantasy” - wad despite this film’s short run time, it tells so much more than most films. it’s extremely ahead of its time and the vfx are incredible. i think this film is a representation of how the media indoctrinates people with extreme content and destroys their minds, and in the extreme cases, which we see in the final act of this film, can lead people to commit horrific, violent acts. the slit in max’s chest i think is a metaphor for how videodrome has turned him into what is essentially a tape player, regurgitating the media’s extreme agendas.
