Rear Window

You’re great at creating difficult situations. Head in hands and a foot from the screen for that entire final act. The most perfect screenplay you will ever see. Thrilling and enticing from minute one. Once your eyes gaze that screen you are just transfixed on what is happening in front of you. It would be hard for me to name many thrillers better than this if any at all. It’s mesmerizing in the most beautiful way possible. Grace Kelly that is with those piercing blue eyes and a stare that you can’t look away from. Grace and Jimmy are truly remarkable here and every time they speak I fall more and more in love with them. Thelma Ritter is so captivating on screen providing so much needed humor. All three of those performances are perfect. The film is gorgeous to look at and the way the atmosphere is set is second to none which I am finding with every Hitchcock film so far. It’s so deeply romantic at times and I don’t know if it’s just the Grace and Jimmy chemistry but the film feels so sexy. I feel filmmakers forget how to create that tension on screen nowadays but Rear Window has it in abundance. The story is incredible and I couldn’t wait for it all to unravel. It really is a remarkable film in every sense and one I have truly adored.
