For my Sci-Fi pick, I chose stalker, one of my favorites, and quite frankly one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Visually stunning, philosophically beautiful.
For my "horror" pick, I'd go with Funny Games, it's not a traditional horror movie in the sense that its less scary and leans more so on the psychological horror aspect. Fantastic movie and social commentary.
For the Mystery pick, I decided to go with Memories of Murder, one of the greatest (true OR fictional) stories ever put to film. The ending is fantastic, and the cinematography is beautiful.
For the Rom-Com pick, I decided to go with Punch-Drunk Love. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of Rom-Com's, or Romantic movies in general, but this movie was done incredibly well and genuinely made me rethink my opinion on the genre, I don't LOVE Rom-Com movies, but now I think I'm much more open to watching them.
I Decided for the last pick, I would choose a film from my criterion list that I HAVENT yet seen. I've heard so many great things about Terrance Mallick, and I have still yet to see any of his movies, and so I chose the tree of life, I have heard that it's generally his easiest film to get into.
