The Killer
This was an absolutely incredible movie, i've been sitting with this in my watchlist for a while now, i've been recommended it a few times, and honestly this movie was right up my alley.
Basically the story is about this hitman, he's incredibly intelligent, methodical, and a psychopath. We don't know his name, or any backstory, all we get is monologues from him that somewhat explain how he thinks and does his work.
The story is pretty basic and slow, but i think this GREATLY adds to this movie. In between the few "action" scenes we do get, the pacing almost makes it feel like we're on a hit, and waiting for the moment of anticipation. The pacing also seems to sort of ramp up as it gets closer to each encounter, which AGAIN further adds to the tension.
Michael Fassbender did an absolutely fantastic job at this role, he was able to portray a very disturbed character, whilst being able to properly show what little empathy the character has left within. After all one of the main characters mottos is "Forbid empathy. Empathy is weakness. Weakness is vulnerability"
This is one of the most underrated movies i've seen in a very long time. Truly a shame that it only has a 3.4 rating.
