Amadeus
I think everyone should be a little like Mozart instead of Salieri. The world would be a better place if so.
Amadeus *Directors Cut: *(RUNTIME: 3 HOURS).
Yet another long film under my belt. I mean I loved this movie. The set design is beautifully crafted, the characters are actually likeable, and best of all, Mozart is a little annoying piece of shit with a goofy ass laugh. I think what I like most about this film is the fact that I see Mozart as a reflection of me, but also Salieri as a reflection of me. It’s hard to find movies that resonate with me so deeply.
Another cool thing I learned about this movie is the fact that every single note played by the people in this movie were actually played correctly! (If this makes sense, I’m really horrible at explaining things). Anyway, I love historical dramas. I mean, Barry Lyndon, Harakiri, Andrei Rublev are all wonderfully written and produced movies. But what’s different about Amadeus is the fact that the soundtrack is so well composed (YES, I know that they just used samples of old music, that’s what makes it good!)
But enough of this chitter chatter. I’m sure tomorrow morning this review will make no sense to me. In short terms, I loved this movie. Check out my profile for better written reviews of movies that I also love. This is just a sloppy review. Would recommend this movie to anyone who likes long movies!
