Prince Avalanche

When it feels like everything around you has been burnt to ashes by a wildfire, remember that a wildfire is a restorative phenomenon rebalancing the nature of things.  This film is perfect in every way. Alvin and Lance are such fully realised, loveable, flawed characters brought to life so compellingly by Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. The cinematography is gorgeous, capturing the astounding beauty in the charred ruins of the forest. The script is hilarious, heartwarming and uplifting. The scene at the burnt down house is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking scenes I’ve ever seen. And this is probably my favourite film soundtrack of all time. Honoured to be one of only 321 people to have given this five stars.
