Pan's Labyrinth

A beautifully shot film blending dramatic and fantasy aspects seamlessly. One of the best looking movies when it comes to scenes at night time, really shows how important lighting is and GDT excels at that. Almost as two separate storylines intertwining and rubbing against eachother to a combined ending and I think that made this fly be in a super entertaining way. The practicals makeup and effects were outstanding and the sets were fun to look at it, especially the Captain’s room that is built like his broken watch, it makes the movie feel alive. The CGI is kind of baffling but somehow it works specifically for this movie because I think it emphasizes the fantasy aspects from Ofelia’s perspective. Great film.
