A Clockwork Orange
“This would sharpen you up and get you ready for a little bit of the old, *ultra violence.”*
This film is just so beautifully crafted. And I fear a lot of people overlook this movie like the same way they do with Old-boy because of the “horrible things” in it. With or without these acts of violence within, film is life.
In my opinion, a very unpopular opinion, this movie has some of the best visuals in cinema! As on my first watch many scenes stuck out to me. Some of them being Alex signing into the jail, or him walking along the river after leaving the institution, or the downpour scene of him revisiting the old man’s house. So many great, and iconic visuals.
And now that I am getting into cinema and the arts, I do start to acknowledge and appreciate a lot more and notice hidden techniques. I’ve noticed that, and I might be crazy but, a lot of the more “eye catching colours” or “attractive things” seem to be on the right side, which scientifically is the side most people tend to look at. Kubrick's films are full of techniques, and he nails them every time. Every Kubrick I’ve seen, has been no lower than a 10.
“*I was cured all right.”*
