Fuck, why did I chose not to see this in theaters. This is possibly one of my favorite animated films.. hell, one of my favorite films in general now.
The fact that this indie movie from Latvia, made on BLENDER, beat out Disney/Pixar AND Dreamworks for best animated feature at the Oscar’s AND Golden Globes is such an insane accomplishment which gives me so much hope for the future of animation.
This was so beautiful and left me teary eyed. Honestly, I’m happy that it had no dialogue.
1. (With some exceptions) im so tired of the talking animals genre
2. This movie was perfectly able to use music, sounds and give the characters distinct personalities where it didn’t even need dialogue to tell the story
