Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Terminator 2 is a timeless classic that has aged like fine wine. It's a movie I loved as a kid and continue to love as an adult, no matter how many times I revisit it. Seven years after The Terminator, they made a sequel that was a step up in every conceivable way, better in every shape and form. Most sequels today feel rushed and make minimal improvements over the original. They often feel like slight updates, more like a movie DLC than a fresh experience. Terminator 2 is one of the greatest sequels ever made and would have been the perfect end to the story, if they hadn’t made those fucking unnecessary sequels that were shameless cash grabs filled with pointless fan service and retconned the second film. Not every damn thing needs to be a franchise.
Yet again, to repeat what I said in my review of part one, the war scenes in the future look so damn good, and I absolutely love that atmosphere. It makes me wish we got a full movie taking place there instead of those dumbass sequels. I know Salvation exists, and I’ve seen it, but it’s lacking the whole atmosphere and setting that made those original future war scenes so compelling.
Anyway, the first two films are timeless classics. They truly don’t make them like this no more, certainly not this fucking cool and badass. Cameron at his best.
