Sentimental Value

Oscars ‘26 Rewatch 1 of x It feels almost silly the say this for a film with 8(?) Oscar nominations but god damn does this deserve more love. I need a Renate Reinsve “Best Actress” award like I need air. This movie is like looking in a mirror. I relate to both daughters so much in certain ways.  You have your parent — unable to communicate, you chalk it up to “they are trying their best”, or “we are all doing this for the first time too” but then as you get older, mature, you wonder if it’s really that, or if it’s a defense mechanism, not speaking protects them from uncomfortable conversations Are they actually trying to love? Are they capable of it? Or do they want everyone to think they love? My favorite movie of 2025. Please Academy, do this movie the justice it deserves.
