Before Midnight
I was planning to write something super cliché and all that, but after watching the last part of the trilogy, I don’t even know what to say. The elements from the first two parts of the trilogy are still there—the dreamy conversations, a vacation in Greece, and whatnot—but you can see right at the beginning that the bomb has already been set, and it’ll explode sooner or later. Yet because of the dreamy nature of the first two films, you think, yeah, if such and such happens, they’ll teach us how to communicate and, you know, love each other through it. And they do—and it’s scary. So fucking scary. But the whole process of it is so beautiful. Maybe I didn’t fully get the film, or maybe I did, but it made me feel, for a moment, like I was someone else—and that’s more than enough.
