Superman

I nearly fucking cried, THE GUNN DID NOT JAM! Action, love, villainy, sadness, hope and lack thereof. This is exactly what DC needed to put them back on track. I love how brilliantly David Corenswet encapsulates Superman with all his virtues and all his faults. Nicholas Hoult is chilling in his role as a depraved, obsessive Lex Luthor. The entire cast of the Daily Planet are both hilarious and awe-inspiring in their respective moments as well as the “Justice Gang”. The action is there. The CGI is there. The romance is there. The animosity is there. The humour is there. This is everything a Superman movie should be. There was no need to undercut heavy moments with bad jokes or make everything dark and brooding. Just purely a wonderful time.
