Michael
“people say i’m not okay
because i love such elementary things.
it’s been my fate to compensate
for the childhood i’ve never known.”
this movie comes full circle for me, growing up i was obsessed with michael jackson. i learned all the dances, even brought my wii to elementary school so me and my friends could play the experience during pe, for as long as i can remember he was the standard for every artist that would come after. in 2022, i saw elvis 9!! times!! in theaters (BEFORE I HAD A-LIST BTW) and i became not only infatuated with elvis, but also movies. the first thing i thought when i walked out of elvis, was i wish one day i could see a mj movie like this. and thankfully this movie is that and so so much more! jaafar was able to replicate the larger than life figure, while also letting us into the tragic life michael lived.
