Thief

Thief, or Sonny Corleone's Kleptomaniac Adventures jokes aside, such a fantastic film, and i swear the bokeh balls in michael mann's films are almost their own character, so prominent and beautiful - and his abnormal use of longer focal length lenses makes for a very unique visual style. the music too is unique and eclectic, unexpectedly complementing the tone of the film brilliantly. plus, james caan is always a win (and this was mann's fucking debut film... i dont know whether that's inspiring or intimidating, but either way it's incredible) Criterion Challenge 2022: 52. ✔
