Superman
i love that the movie starts with the universe already established. we get to know these characters as the movie progresses, no origin story just straight movie. love it. david and nick do such a great job at embodying superman and lex it’s uncanny. also rachel brosnahan as lois lane might me the most i have been mesmerised by a female protagonist, even more than emma stone as gwen stacy. mr terrific is awesome i want more of him. also guy gardner and hawkgirl are good. the pacing was great i didnt feel bored once which made for the possibly most enjoyable theatre experience in a while. it was great seeing metamorpho on the big screen for the first time i loved it so much. the political themes felt a bit much at times but they are very much needed at the moment given the current situations with trump and israel. james gunn did a great job at making them very on the nose for the dumb republicans who think they understand superman but really don’t. the cgi felt goofy at times tbh but didn’t take away my immersion. krypto was the heart and soul of this movie and i loved every second he was on screen. the kents feel like a real texan farmers couple who care so much about their boy clark. i also find it so amazing how jimmy olsen is a chick magnet and the fact that it leads to the movie ending. so great. the superman theme fills me with so much hope and whimsy and joy and love to share. lex inspired me to bring out the hater in me to the fullest but thank god superman exists to turn that hate into hope. the central theme of this beautiful movie, hope. something very needed right now.
