After Hours
At first I thought that I would've loved this film, based on how everybody was talking about and treating this film, but it really just didn't hit for me, idk why and I really tried to like it. As far as the plot and the technical aspects go, it sounded like the perfect film for me, the messy unraveling of a simple night, the cinematography, and the fact that it was directed by martin scorsese, but I really couldn't force myself to like it, I thought some of the choices that the main character made was way too dumb and the way all of the events unraveled could've been done better, at times, the strange chain of events unraveled in a way that felt deflating rather than tense and a lot of that comes down to Paul himself, whose decisions felt less like character choices and more like plot convenience (which I don't really mind sometimes, but a lot of the times it was really boring). He barely registers as a person. though, I cant lie, I thought the Cinematography and score were both absolutely beautiful and it made it less "painful" to sit through this one, not to mention the ending which I thought was perfect for a film like this, but a lot of the weaknesses atstill hold the film back for me.
I did watch this before midnight tho, might've need to give this one a rewatch at midnight but I don't know if it would work, HOPING that it will.
