Sinners

when the singing and dancing was a more heightened ecstasy and moment of spiritual connection (!!!) than when sammie prayed the our father, hoping for divine intervention only for the vampires to all start reciting it back with more fervour. perfect! PERFECT.  how could prayer save you when you pray in the language of your oppressor? how can religion save you when your god is the god your oppressors pray to? also the scene of spirits dancing and the kkk slaughterhouse figuratively burning down because of the passion and connection they felt (when neither the audience nor the characters are even aware of it yet) because of the music might be one of my favourite scenes to exist ever. so much meaning can be taken out of it and i love that plus: scrumptious movie for the bisexuals. everyone quite literally ate. (HAILEE STEINFELD W BLOOD ALL OVER HER YES GAUDD 🙏 )
