I didn’t want it to end. Just superb filmmaking all round. First of all, one of the best looking films I’ve ever seen, seeming to take influence from so many eras and doing so seamlessly in its cinematography. Every single performance too was sublime, and every single performer just had this uncanny ability to reflect SO much in their expressions in their performances, not least Mikey Madison who held the emotional backbone of the film. The way in which she continuously reflects the entirety of the emotional spectrum, doubt, love, heartbreak, ambition, confusion… all coming to a head with THAT ending (which I'm still processing typing this) where she quite literally becomes pure emotion. Utterly spellbinding. The film is also one of the funniest I’ve seen in a while which is ridiculously impressive given just how depressing it could be at times. I could say a million things about this film, but my words alone could not do it justice. A new favourite for sure.
