finally finally got to watch this after wanting to for so long... possibly one of my favourite ending portions of a film ever. the use of photocopy and highlight was already an extremely cool artistic choice, but the way they used the highlighter technique only to introduce characters easily for the entirety of the film gave the ending an amazing pay off when they started using it in an abstract expressionist way (you would think with a film like this, you would use it in an abstract way the whole time as they typically do in media that attempt a similar technique. the restraint makes this a special one). AND playing a unique salonga song as an ending too oh wow. at first i was disappointed they didnt choose an early 2000s song too because it took me out of the fantasy for a second and made me rmb this is a 2019 film merely mimicking 2008, but i stopped caring because it got me so emotional anyway. shoutout to the orange altkid tropa and their little typecast cds, theyre easily my favourite.
