The Shining

91/100 I think the pacing was the most important thing that made this movie great. It’s a very well spread out, slow descent into insanity. I was completely locked in from the very beginning - there’s something eerie about Jack even when he’s sane. There was this threat that something horrible could happen in any scene. I like the ambiguity about the cause of Jack’s insanity. Is there actually something supernatural in the hotel? Is the isolation just bringing the worst out of him? Acting, cinematography, sound was all as good as it could possibly be. Nicholson is rlly the goat.
