Joker
“Some people just want to see the world burn” I know it’s from the dark knight but it applies here.
I know that Gotham is supposed to represent 70s-80s New York City, but I see a lot of similarities to recent day Portland. I rewatched this because joker 2 is coming this year and I’m just so excited. Literally the only thing to make this movie better is a Lady Gaga Harly Quinn, and that’s exactly what 2 has. I think this and “The Batman” started a whole new genre of super hero/villain movies. Joaquin Phoenix is so wonderful in this, he’s so impressive as an actor. Many scenes that he just absolutely committed to the role so well. Loosing the weight and learning the laugh. Heath would’ve been proud. I truly like to believe that Murray Franklin is secretly Rupert Pupkin. So much of this movie is similar to “The King of Comedy” it’s insane. I wonder if Marty is happy about it. I think it’s really funny that Sam Morril does a real bit of his. Just like I said about “Fight Club” there is some message deep in here. The “crazies” of the world, in reality it’s the people that need help the most that never get it, which is so sad in this society. Arthur says a lot of things that everyone can relate to, it’s a really sad, emotional story and I’m happy to see a second movie coming out this year. I’m so glad to be alive for this new wave of films.
