Taxi Driver

It’s pretty hard to explain or justify that this movie is kind of a comfort movie for me. At its bones it’s really a movie about people and people living with fucked up minds in a fucked up world. Travis Bickle is one of the most interesting characters ever put on screen. Robert De Niro really does a good job portraying the most horrific characters possible. Something about De Niros eyes really are one of his strengths and call tell you a lot of what he’s thinking, in his youth it was really noticeable and in this movie especially when he looks around in the cab and in his rear view mirror. I can’t at all describe everything this movie says and its entire meaning but I do feel it on a different level than other movies. The kind of movie that when you watch it, there’s just a certain feeling to it that’s different than any other kind of movie. Such a unique and interesting world and story that these characters are a part of.
