The Dark Knight Rises
Listen, once again it’s been years since I’ve seen this. I remember being so scared of Bane as a kid, and I remember getting all the toys or Lego sets that were based of this movie. I remember this movie as a little too crazy, but I was mistaken. I’m sorry but I’m just a sucker for comeback stories. It’s the same as Rocky 4 for me, he’s already established, he needs to fight his hardest opponent, lose and feel what it feels to be at the lowest point just to find his way back and fight them again and win. Sorry but you can’t tell me shit about this movie, it’s awesome. If it came out today, maybe I’d think differently of it but I hold these films so close to my heart nothing and no one can take that way from me and I believe I will always feel this way. This has one of the toughest opening scenes I’ve ever seen. Cameo by Cillian and baby Glen. Looking at these three films as a whole, a killer cast I must say. Gary Oldman is a legend and I have to say is probably the actor with the biggest range I’ve ever seen. Watch this movie then go watch True Romance and tell me they’re the same person. Morgan Freeman is a dog and I love seeing him and everything. MICHAEL FUCKING CAINE. My Alfred, perfectly casted. He’s the most insightful and caring character in this universe. And I gotta admit, the scene of him at the graves got me, Michael Caine is a brilliant actor and a perfect Alfred. Mr. Bale, like I said last night about the Dark Knight, he’s always been my Batman and an inspiration. He really explores the complexities of the character so great. The message is so great that is outweighs every fault in my eyes. I believe Anne Hathaway is a goddess and should be treated as such, her as cat woman is simply perfection. Her in general is perfection. Lastly can we talk about a fucking ending. To me it’s a great ending, we can chose to believe if we think Robin continues fighting crime, Alfred is paid from the will, Commissioner Gordon is honored, Batman is seen as a hero again for Gotham, AND BRUCE AND SELINA ARE SEEN LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Christopher Nolan really said “fuck you, I don’t know how Batman survived ether but he did.” Just such a satisfying ending to me. A perfect end to the trilogy. Thank you Christopher Nolan and Christian for making the best Batman trilogy ever.
