Whiplash

There’s only a few movies I could solely stand by and say they are perfection, things like the Godfather and Casablanca but this movie especially is just a perfect movie in my opinion. It’s 100 minutes, tells the most interesting incredible story imaginable. It is simple and easy to understand and makes sense but it’s not dry it’s so deep and intricate. Fletcher is trying to inspire and push someone to be great and Andrew wants to be great and is in full pursuit of that. Even though some of his methods and how he treats people are questionable, it makes sense because to him there’s only one option which is being one of the greats. Fletcher finds him and puts him through hell, and just when he thinks that he has Andrew tricked and can sabotage any chance for Andrew’s career, Andrew shows up and shows why he is a great drummer. Fucking exceptional movie. For Chazelles first big movie this was insane. So much you can do with J.K. Simmons screaming his head off and scaring people. Oscar worthy performance certainly. Love Miles Teller and everything he does. Such a great story.
