Heat
had to rewatch cos it's leaving Netflix😔
what a fucking movie
*98/100

it's cool, it's stylish, it's funny, the score is electric, the cinematography is so chilling, and the two leading performances are insanely great
first time I watched this I was fully Team De Niro, but this time i didnt know who to root for. Michael Mann paints this epic like a master
admittedly, I thought it drags a little in the third hour, but nothing that really lost my attention. also it does feel slightly "robotic" at one point early on where it's just like "and here's the criminals' families, and then here's the cops' families" clearly just to show parallels and create a connection, but it doesn't lead to anything since those characters are never really shown again at all. only Val Kilmer's supporting characters are decently fleshed out. the introduction of the other families isn't even really needed.
but on the flip side the Breedan arc was built up and done so so well
this fucking movie bro😭 so so sick - I really need to watch Thief soon.
Al Pacino high-key a baddie too
