It's like a fable. An allegory of the teenage years for girls (honestly I don't I can get it at its fullest for obvious reasons). A strong point is the photography, in particular the composition which was really cured. A sort of Bonnie and Clyde retelling with a zest of absurdism and surrealism which is at its apex in the dream sequences (one of the best done I ever watched and I really care about dream sequences in general)
