Melancholia
Just so terrifying and haunting. Captures depression insanely well. It has some flaws, pacing is a bit odd, sometimes the dream-like narrative can feel too messy, I wish the film focused more on Justine in the second half, it was a bit too long, but I can excuse these things, the movie is just so stunning. The intro is unsettling and beautiful, the main theme is just astonishing set alongside the imagery, the symbolism felt very accurate. The film is just so damn moving and thought provoking, especially for someone who has struggled with depression in the past. One I’m expecting to stay on my mind for a while.
